As the title of our organization says, the RVFRD is a volunteer organization. It takes a lot of time, talent, skill and commitment to staff the firehouse twenty-four hours a day. The department currently numbers some 70 volunteers. Many are lifesaving firefighters and paramedics. But there are other volunteers behind the scenes who never put on a fire helmet or ride in an ambulance. These volunteers are equally as important.
Joining the RVFRD team is a great way to help the community. Whether you’re a teenager or a senior citizen, there is a place for you with the department. All of the training necessary to fight fires or provide critical medical treatment is provided by the department. All you need is the time to serve and the enthusiasm to become a part of an honor-bound team of professionals that make a difference in Remington and the surrounding communities.
